On 5/11/13, Upward Bound and our sister TRIO program, Educational Talent Search collaborated to present the Senior Transition Workshop. This workshop provided information to our graduating high school seniors to help prepare them for their move to 2 year and 4 year institutions.
Our topics included:
- College Orientation (advising, financial aid, and campus resources)
- Success Skills (study skills, goal setting and time management)
- Career Development (choosing a major, career/job differences)
- Freshman perspective (2 former UB and ETS students spoke about what college life is like for them)
We were able to distribute lots of important information about what our seniors can expect as they transition into this new stage of their lives. Our hope is that they will use this information to be successful as they pursue their post-secondary education.
